I was watching the F1 race replay and saw Mr. Moustache himself, but couldn't for the love of me remember his name.
So I punched 'mercedes moustache guy' into Google and the Wikipedia article was the first hit. :D Maybe Google has now gotten the better of my search habits. Ain't tech grand.

Heh. I knew his son a little bit in college on the FSAE team. He was surprisingly down to earth for the son of such a high profile CEO, he was our bodywork guy and would spend hours laying and sanding carbon fiber. He was also the most batshit driver I've ever seen.

Huh, interesting. Woulda thought his kids went to college in Germany? I'm just assuming you're from USA, as most of Oppo is.
Any idea what his son went on to do? Considering you describe him as batshit driver on an FSAE team, I imagine it might have to do with motorsport. :)

He went to high school in Michigan since this was during the Daimler Chrysler Era. After undergrad I think he went to get a masters degree in Germany and I haven't heard from him since.
